Aims :
- To revise quantities and units used in radiological protection.
- To introduce some new quantities.
Objectives :
By the end of this course the student will be able to:
- Define, explain and apply the quantity activity and its unit.
- Define, explain and apply the following quantities concerned with individuals, and their units:
(a) absorbed dose
(b) dose equivalent
(c) committed dose equivalent
(d) effective dose equivalent
(e) committed effective dose equivalent.
- Define, explain and apply the following quantities concerned with populations, and their units:
(a) collective dose equivalent
(b) collective effective dose equivalent
(c) per caput dose equivalent
(d) dose equivalent commitment
(e) collective effective dose equivalent commitment.
